We are all human. This beautiful moment could change the world. There are homeless people in every city of the world. What we do about it is everything. Making assumptions about their situation and ignoring them is a choice. We could say hello or ask them about themselves and their story. Watch this video as the gentleman shares a transformative moment as a person experiencing homelessness along the streets of Edinburgh who lost his daughter at the hands of a drunk driver. As we enter into our lives each day, remember, life happens to people. What labels we make up about this doesn’t really matter at all. The fact is people are people. Homelessness, doesn’t mean they are less than us at all. Every person is a human being with dignity, a name, a story, a family, a history. So as you see someone that is feeling less hopeless than you are, give them a smile, a kind word, your time or invest in them in some way. Every single person needs to know they are loved. George Sand says, “There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.” One of the things I love about this man’s story is that he still holds hope. At the end of the video he talks about making his daughter proud. Walking by a homeless person is a choice. You can be a ray of hope, difference-maker, lover of people in someone’s day every single day regardless of their living conditions. You get to be the change you wish to see in the world. This Beautiful Moment
